A corporate lawyer in New York City with over 25 years of experience, Dyan Gershman established Gershman Law, PLLC in 2014 and provides U.S. and international clients with a broad range of legal services in the areas of corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic alliances, technology and intellectual property licensing, and equity investments.
As founder and partner of Gershman Law, Dyan Gershman leverages her extensive experience at an elite law firm, and at two Fortune 50 multinationals, advising clients on corporate legal matters, and handling mergers and acquisitions and other corporate transactions, to serve her U.S. and international clients in their varied legal needs. Ms. Gershman is fluent in French, and conversant in Italian, and has substantial experience working with European clients.
Dyan Gershman began her legal career in the New York City office of the global law firm Jones Day, where she represented large and mid-sized clients in a wide range of corporate transactions as a member of the firm's corporate group.
Following Jones Day, Ms. Gershman was an executive-level corporate lawyer at both Bristol-Myers Squibb's global headquarters in New York City, and at General Electric Company's global headquarters in Fairfield, Connecticut, where she led many complex U.S. and cross-border M&A and other corporate transactions ranging from small and mid-sized deals to multi-billion dollar acquisitions. At Bristol-Myers Squibb, Ms. Gershman was awarded the President's Award for Outstanding Achievement, the company's highest honor. At General Electric, Ms. Gershman's performance earned her the prestigious CEO Award.
Admitted to practice in New York and Florida, Dyan Gershman holds a juris doctor from Boston College Law School, where she was an executive editor of the Boston College Law Review and graduated cum laude. She received her bachelor’s degree in liberal arts and sciences (comparative literature) with highest distinction from Colorado College. She was a recipient of the Thomas J. Watson Fellowship, a fellowship that allowed her to study in France for a year following graduation.
Outside of her professional life, Dyan Gershman gives back to the community through her support of nonprofit organizations. Over the years, she has served as an outreach committee member for the Catskill Animal Sanctuary and as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.
